Act Locally To Make An Impact Globally
“Every community has their own way of fighting.” ~ Jane Fonda
In GASLIT, we journey through the oil fields of West Texas’ Permian Basin and the Gulf Coast of Louisiana, visiting communities impacted by oil and gas production. Among these communities are workers, families, organizers, and self-described “reluctant activists” and advocates who fight every day for a climate-safe future.
Check out the interactive map below to see which local fights you can support — no matter where you live. Simply select a red dot and if that action speaks to you, click and you will be taken to that organization’s webpage.

Make Polluters Pay
For decades, oil and gas corporations have raked in trillions while knowingly wreaking havoc on our world, supercharging climate change in the name of record-breaking profits. Instead of taking responsibility, they have deflected, denied, and lied to us — as far back as the 1950s.
It’s past time to hold polluters accountable for the harms they’ve inflicted upon the world. They should be paying their fair share.
Sign the Polluter Pays Pact — an organizing tool to engage millions of people and demonstrate mass public support for the global movement to hold polluters accountable. By making polluters pay, we will ensure frontline communities are safe and healthy, our infrastructure is resilient, and our emergency services are prepared.
We now have a shot to make a strong plastics treaty a reality and the mission is clear — at the next UN meeting, the ambitious majority must fight for protections against dangerous chemicals, bans on single-use plastics, reuse targets, and an equitable financing plan.
Tell world leaders now is not the time to quit: we must push hard for a strong Global Plastics Treaty to make plastic pollution a thing of the past.
JanePAC believes that in order to end the stranglehold the fossil fuel industry has on our political system and our planet, we must elect climate-conscious leaders at the state and local level who will stand up to Big Oil, its lobbyists, and the politicians in its pocket.
